Settings reference
Every setting in Enscale and what it actually does — billing, business hours, auto-replies, storefront widgets, loyalty, team and tags.
Settings are grouped into seven tabs. This page is the lookup for what's in each.
If you're just setting up, the three that matter most are General (timezone and business hours), Widget (how your storefront chat and reviews look), and Team (getting people in).
Billing
Your plan, what you've used, and what you're being charged.
| Section | Shows |
|---|---|
| Current plan | Plan, price, billing cycle, renewal date |
| Usage meters | Conversations, workflow runs and campaign messages against your allowance — amber at 80%, red at 100% |
| AI usage | Resolutions this period and the projected charge |
| Overage toggles | Whether to keep running past a limit and pay per unit |
| Shopify usage cap | Your hard ceiling on metered charges |
Both overage toggles are off by default
You'll never be charged overage without switching it on yourself. Turning one on means work continues past your allowance instead of pausing, and you pay per unit. See Plans and limits.
General
Your store basics and the messages that send themselves.
Timezone and business hours
Your timezone drives more than you'd expect — whether a conversation counts as out of hours, when scheduled campaigns actually go out, and every timestamp you see.
Set it to where your support team works, which isn't always where your store is registered or which currency you sell in.
Business hours decide when the Conversation Out of Hours trigger fires.
Automatic replies
| Message | Sends when |
|---|---|
| Welcome message | Someone contacts you for the first time |
| Out-of-hours message | A conversation starts outside your business hours |
Each has its own switch and its own wording. The out-of-hours one needs business hours set first.
Closing quiet conversations
Closes conversations after a stretch of silence in either direction.
| Setting | Default |
|---|---|
| Enabled | On |
| Hours of silence | 24 |
Anywhere from 1 hour to 30 days. The check runs hourly, so anything under an hour can't be honoured exactly.
Switching it off means conversations only close when a person or an AI agent closes them. Auto-closed conversations are never billed as AI resolutions, so this doesn't cost you anything either way.
Widget
How your storefront chat bubble and review displays look. See Webchat widget and Reviews.
Chat bubble
| Setting | Controls |
|---|---|
| Accent colour | Bubble and header colour |
| Position | Which corner |
| Show on pages | Which pages display it |
Product review widget
| Setting | Controls |
|---|---|
| Layout style | How reviews are arranged |
| Default sort order | Newest, highest rated, lowest rated, or most helpful |
| Reviews per page | Page size |

| Show verified purchase badge | Marks reviews from confirmed orders |
| Show review source | Whether it came from Judge.me or Loox |
| Show helpful votes | Helpful counts and voting |
| Show write-a-review button | Whether customers can submit from here |
Leave the verified purchase badge on. It's the thing that makes your reviews credible to a stranger.
Star ratings on cards
For your collection and product cards:
| Setting | Controls |
|---|---|
| Star size | Badge size |
| Position on card | Where it appears |
| Badge style | Visual style |
| Show review count | The number beside the stars |
| Show "reviews" text | The word after the count |
| Link stars to reviews | Whether clicking jumps to the review section |
Loyalty
Points earning, redemption and expiry. Off by default.
Full guide: Loyalty.
Team
Invite people and set their roles. Unlimited seats on every paid plan.
See Team and roles.
Tags
Manage your contact tag list.
Add tags here rather than free-typing them each time. Tags are matched exactly, so VIP and vip are different — and a segment looking for one will silently miss everyone with the other. Managing the list centrally is what stops that happening.
See Tags.
Notifications
Which alerts reach you. Billing and Channel alerts can't be switched off — see Notifications for why.
